On 20th October 2024, Aikido Shudokan Hong Kong proudly hosted a special seminar for children: Junior Samurai – Unleash Your Child's Potential. This exciting event was designed to introduce children aged 6–12 to the art of Aikido in a fun, engaging, and enriching way.

The seminar was led by our esteemed visiting instructor, Elfira Ruizna Ortega Sensei (2nd Dan Aikido), from Aikido Shudokan Malaysia & Singapore. With years of experience teaching children, Ortega Sensei brought her expertise and energy to the mats, creating an unforgettable experience for all participants.

What Happened During the Event?

The Junior Samurai seminar was more than just a class – it was an opportunity for children to explore Japanese martial arts while building confidence, discipline, and teamwork. Here's what the young participants experienced:

• Understanding Aikido Basics:Children were introduced to the fundamental principles of Aikido, including its philosophy of harmony and self-defense.

• Learning Falls & Self-Defense Techniques:Kids practiced safe falling techniques and simple self-defense moves in a supportive environment.

• Games & Fun on the Mats:To keep things lively, fun games were incorporated into the session, allowing kids to bond, laugh, and enjoy their time on the mats.

Aikido isn’t just about martial arts – it’s about character development. Through this seminar, children learned skills that go beyond the dojo:
