Q: What will my child (or I) learn in the Aikido Summer Course? A: Participants will learn foundational Aikido skills including safe falling (Ukemi), basic Aikido techniques, simple self-defense movements, and harmony principles. Every class also includes fun interactive games to keep the training engaging and enjoyable while building confidence, focus, balance, and coordination.
Q: Can I join the class together with my teen kid? A: Yes! We warmly welcome parents and teens to train together in the Adult/Teen Class (2:30 – 3:30 PM). It’s a great opportunity for family bonding through Aikido. Younger children (6–12 years old) will join the dedicated Kids Class (4:00 – 5:00 PM).
Q: Is Aikido training safe for kids? A: Yes, absolutely. Aikido is a non-competitive martial art that emphasizes safety, control, and respect. Our classes are led by experienced instructors who prioritize proper technique, safe falling (Ukemi), and a supportive environment. We adapt the training according to age and ability to ensure every child trains confidently and safely.
Q: What should I wear during the class? A: Please wear comfortable sportswear with long sleeves and long pants (e.g. tracksuit or gi if you have one). This helps protect the skin during rolling and falling practice. For girls, we recommend tying long hair back securely. No shoes are needed on the mat — we train barefoot.
